Liszt doesn't get why this is silly

Post by Whitey »

I was reading something from reddit about stupid things you've done. Someone related the following story.

"a friend of mine was dead serious and asked why don't wheelchairs have pedals for when your arms get tired."

I've read it to her several times. [none]

Have you made sure "pedals" translates properly into her fake language.

Apparently she thought pedals were arm rests. [none]

I asked her what she calls the accelerator and brake on her car. She said....pedales...... [none]

Well, we don't need to pick on her when there are countries where the people think the hood of a car is a bonnet and the trunk is a boot.

I'm now informed that she even uses pedals on a piano, and to activate her dentist equipment. Pedales on everything!

You mean freedom fries?

Meh - that would be far more effective if you guys didn't call "Main meals" entrees, ate things like "Chicken fried steaks" and still don't see the obvious merits in the metric system

Chicken fried steak is the greatest thing since the porterhouse.

I actually like Chicken Fried steak, altho, when I do like it, I call it a schnitzel,

But if its breaded meats you like - nothing beats a good chicken paramiagana

^Mouth watering !

As far as steaks are concerned, the correct order is Scotch Fillet > Eye Fillet > Porterhouse > rump

I make the fuck out of some chicken parmigiana. Actually, you'd probably put me to shame, but I like to make it and think it comes out pretty good. It's my favorite home cooked meal that I know how to make, or at least one of my favorites.

Well - I'd eat the fuck out of your chicken Parmiagana, its hard to get horribly wrong but when it all goes right - man its good.

I usually make it when I have left over Napoli sauce from a previous meal - Use think sliced smoked ham and a good aged cheddar mixed with shredded parmesan for the melt - always serve with chips/fries/freedom fries as a side and usually a Caesar Salad cos I like something fresh to go with all that fried stuff.

I actually didn't even know that this was something you chaps had in the states - its almost a national obsession here with pubs being rated by the quality of the parma's

Look - there's a whole website dedicated to it

Well in that first link you posted, it says in North America it's often served on the side of or on top of some pasta, and that's exactly how I make it. Bread it with baking soda, eggs, and some Italian flavored bread crumbs (I don't really know how it's "Italian flavored", I just buy the fucking can that says that on the front), make my own parmigiana sauce with a recipe I got from youtube, and throw it on some spaghetti noodles with melted mozzarella piled on top.

and so it does, didn't even read the article given I was really just looking for a pic of a chicken parma (also because I didn't think you had them in the states) ..

Happily, the first pic I found (the one I posted) was an example of a chicken parma from a local pub (well - like 15 minutes down the road) ..so, score!

I use plain flour/eggs and Normal bread crumbs or panko (depending on whats in the cupboard) and flavour the bread crumbs with mixed Italian herbs (usually oregano, basil and sage) and some Vegeta cos I use vegeta in almost everything given its actual food magic.

I don't know why I said I use baking soda. I use corn starch. Don't think I've ever even heard of Vegeta. I thought he was a character on Dragonball Z.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vegeta_(food)

^ this is the stuff and if you can find some, it's well worth it. Says its sold worldwide. Its really just a stock powder but its some kinda magic. Literally makes everything tastier. I use it in pasta sauces, soups, cream potatoes, mash .. roasted vegetables, roast chicken (oil and vegeta rubbed on the chicken skin ..and that's all you need to do) .. almost every savoury dish I make.

and - it also appears to be a character on Dragonball Z .. maybe some sort of homage?
