GoT

Post by BruceSmith78 »

Well DA was complaining that the Others haven't stirred up enough shit in the books, but in GoT they've officially brought the ruckus.

Also, we've now got confirmation that Valyrian steel beats obsidian, aka dragon glass, when it comes to killing white walkers. Up until now that was just a theory. And Daenerys finally has someone that knows how to rule advising her.

I think that little shit who keeps crying about how the wildlings killed his fam is gonna stab Jon Snow in the back next episode. Literally.

I still haven't watched any of it yet. It's gonna be a delicious binge watch session.

That is easily the best episode of the series. The first half of the season was meh, but the last two have been great. Partly as Sand Snake scenes have been kept to a minimum. Partly as shit is actually coming together.

... I guess I'll have to start watching it again. I stopped like a month ago.

Yeah - everyone keeps complaining that not a lot happened in the first part of this series but, I've actually thought it was perfectly watchable given that things are still in motion, stuff is being set up and the story is being progressed.. Having said that - I've deliberately left this series until just a couple of weeks ago so I can binge watch which might effect my experience given I haven't had to wait a week once I've finished watching the last.
But - all in all I feel a lot of the criticism of this series is lost on me.., I've enjoyed it.

It hasn't been that good. The scenes I liked was when Cersei couldn't keep order in the council. When Margaery insults Cersei masterfully and.... when Jon beheads the dude, which was badass. The rest has been meh to a little shit.

So apparently Stannis just burned Shireen alive. Okay.

I really love going to the r/asoiaf subreddit now. It's like an anti-GoT support group. They hate the show with such an intense fiery passion. Their responses to this episode are pretty funny in their complete hysteria. Not that they're not essentially right, IMO.

I am no longer rooting for Stannis and his love of correct grammar to be the king. Right now I'd rather have Prince Doran as King of Westeros. I don't actually give a shit about who rules Westeros as long as they sort their shit out and help the Nights Watch.

Doran the Man > Stannis the Mannis/Assface

I never cared for Stannis. When we first met him he was burning his brother-in-law alive, wasn't he? In the books he had an inkling to burn a baby alive.

I'm rooting for the Others, although we all know in the end Dany and Jon are gonna hop on some dragons and roast those crazy fucking snowmen.

I want them to make Dany some sort of saviour figure then bump her off. I really don't like her.

I hope they make Dany the villain. I don't even care what they do with Stannis, or pretty much anyone else. I don't care about anyone on the show anymore.

Well, shit has gone down. Now book readers are in the dark almost as much as show watchers.

I have no clue what they're doing with Danaerys. Glad Tyrion and Varys are a duo again, this season hasn't had enough Varys.

The Nights Watch are stupid idiot twatweasels. I hope Melissandre ressurects Jon and he goes off elsewhere to find a way to deal with the threat of the White Walkers. If he's dead his vows to the Nights Watch are no longer valid. I had a grudging respect for Alliser Thorne before this episode, but it's annoying me how NONE of the NW realise what Jon was doing was good.

Arya's story should be interesting now, I'm glad she murdered Meryn Trant. HARD.

Cersei's big scene....I hate her character but I was feeling sorry for her by the end, nobody should suffer that. I still think she's an awful person but GRRM has made me sympathetic.

Fuck Ellaria. You're doing all this for your ex partner who EXPLICITLY said 'We don't hurt little girls in Dorne'. You're an idiot and I hope Bronn cuts your head off. Also, I hope the Sand Snakes don't return next season. The only people I want returning from the Dorne storyline are Doran, Areo Hotah, and Ellaria so she can be executed for killing Mrycella, her own nephews fiance!

Also, Stannis had it coming. Bastard. I thought what he did might pay off so we'd be conflicted about him beating the Boltons while hating what he did, Glad Brienne got revenge though.. At least Davos is safe. Davos is cool. Also yay, Theon is back and helping Sansa and not being Reek!

I kinda think Dany's gonna earn the respect of this new Dothraki horde by being like, "hey look, I got a pet dragon bitches," and then she's gonna go riding back to Meereen to join up with her unsullied and finally go conquer Westeros.

Jon's gonna be resurrected. After reading A Dance with Dragons, his death was not at all surprising last night, but I'm sure Martin has more in store for his character.

Agree with all of this - Arya is probably my least favourite major character (not so much in terms of her morality or anything, I just think she comes over all winey and ineffective) .. this latest development makes me far more invested in where she is going.

Cercei - is obviously a cold hearted beatch with very few redeeming qualities, but despite all that I still maintain she is one of the better drawn, better dimensioned characters who I still kinda feel for her given she is very much a product of her times and a reasonably fucked up family .. but she's also done far worse to many people than what was done to her.. Having said that, that scene was torturous to watch and did well to make me actually feel sorry for her.

Stannis - I've never felt that Stannis would make a great king or a good person but did not expect him to actually burn his daughter at the stake for the crown and am pretty glad he got his comeuppance - would have been very conflicted picking a side that I'd want to win out of him and the Boltons - but, would probably prefer Stannis won that than the way it went down.
