I read somewhere in youtube that she is responsible of the death of thousands of people, yet she's overshadow by other characters. I blame racism.

Golden-Age Hawkgirl, the Silver Age made Hawkgirl and Hawkman into Thanagarians instead of humans. It's just not as good.
