we're not even that near to China. India and Russia and the Middle East and Japan and Korea are all far nearer to China than Singapore is.

I have never thought there was any confusion?

Guess we are fairly close to Asia in general tho (in so much as Australia is close to anything that aint actually Australia) .. so that might account for the difference but - most people here have a reasonably decent understanding of what and where a variety of Major Asian countries are.

There are actually only about 8 places in the world. Europe, America, the Middle East, Africa, India, Russia, China and Australia
