The problem with the animation age ghetto

Post by Unvoiced_Apollo »

"Justice League Throne of atlantis"
"Dark Knight Returns"
"Son of Batman"
"Batman vs Robin"

Are all apparently children's movies. Because so long as the blood and on screen deaths are animated, it's ok for them to watch...I guess?

I just watched Son of Batman and Batman vs Robin. Both were great. I definitely wouldn't think of them as children's movies. Who's saying they are?

I'd never heard of them until just recently. A friend of mine who's super into comics and especially Batman gave me his digital copies. Though he didn't tell me there was an order to them so I watched Batman vs Robin first. That one was amazing.

Damian Wayne: "I was trained to be an assassin by Ras al Ghul."

Dick Grayson: "I was trained by Bruce Wayne and every time they fought he whipped Ras al Ghul's ass."

Yeah, there were so many great lines in there. What's the deal with the pronunciation of "Ras al Ghul"? It's completely different in the Nolan trilogy and those movies; which is correct?

Neither is incorrect since they occur in different universes. It's like a discussion I had on IMDB about whether Superman's Kryptonian name is Kal-El or Kal-L and thus whether his cousin's name is Kara Zor-El or Kara Zor-L. It depends on which universe. Did Batman marry Catwoman and have a daughter who became the Huntress who took his place as part of the dynamic duo with Robin. Yes and No are both correct. Did Joe Chill shoot Bruce Wayne's mother after shooting his father or did she die of a heart attack after seeing her husband murdered? Both. Does the universe have only one Green Lantern or is there a Green Lantern Corps? Yes. Did Clark Kent marry Lois Lane and raise Kara as their daughter or was Kara raised by the Kents as Clarks sister or raised by another family while knowing that Clark was her cousin? All three are correct. Is Kara's name in costume Power Girl or Supergirl? Yes it is. Does Wonder Woman have a twin engine WWII style invisible plane, an invisible jet or can she fly on her own? Absolutely. Did she marry Steve Trevor and have a daughter who became the superheroine known as Fury who took her mother's place after Diana retired? Yes she did and no, she never had a daughter. How often did Batman carry a gun? Regularly and never. Did Dick Grayson remain Robin throughout his crime-fighting career or did he become Nightwing when he became an adult? Correct.

When dealing with a mythology where the Clark Kent of one universe savagely killed the Clark Kent of another universe before being stopped by the Clark Kent of yet another universe, all is possible.

Personally I prefer the pronunciation in TDK trilogy because Liam Neeson. There are only two types of actors in Hollywood, those Liam Neeson has killed and those he's going to kill.

Gendo, you should watch The Dark Knight Returns. Forget Throne of Atlantis and I'd even say forget Justice League: War, because the Shazam character doesn't belong. That's not even his damn name.

Yeah I'm surprised that same friend didn't get me to watch Dark Knight Returns. I'll definitely check it out. It's a 2 part movie right?
